When you submit an initial document request, I may collect your name, email address, country, information about the person named in the requested Italian record, dates, places, parents’ names, your message, and documents you voluntarily upload. These data are used only to assess, manage and fulfil your document-retrieval request and related communications.

Data are processed to respond to your request and, where a service is agreed, to take steps connected with providing that service and complying with applicable legal obligations. Please send only information and files that are relevant to the document request.
Authorizations and identification documents
Some Italian authorities may require a signed authorization (delega) and/or a copy of the client’s identification document before they will process or release a record. These documents are not requested from every client. They are requested only when necessary for the specific case and may be transmitted to the competent authority for that purpose.
Recipients and authorities
Where necessary to perform the requested service, relevant information may be communicated to the competent Italian Comune, State Archive, parish, Diocese/Curia, courier or other issuing/service provider involved in the request. Data are not sold.
Storage and security
Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary for the request, contractual/accounting obligations and applicable legal requirements. The website is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure. The request form is processed through FormSubmit, a third-party form-forwarding service, and forwards the information you submit to the professional email inbox. Please send only information and files relevant to your request.

Under applicable data-protection law, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability where applicable, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
