HOW IT WORKS

Simple, personal, transparent.

Send the information you already have. I review it first, clarify any name or spelling variants, and tell you whether I can take the request before you pay anything.

1

Initial request — no charge

Send the person's details, Comune, document type and any records you already have. No payment is required at this stage.

2

Open the case

If I can take the case, I will confirm the scope and price in writing. You decide whether to proceed. Only after your express confirmation and the $40 Case Opening Fee do I begin paid retrieval work.

3

I follow the request

I contact the competent office in Italy and follow the procedure required by that authority. If the office requires a signed authorization, copy of your ID or an official fee, I will contact you before proceeding with that requirement.

4

Document obtained

For a single document, the remaining $100 service balance becomes due once it is obtained. Delivery is then arranged.

$140 service fee per document

$40 Case Opening Fee, charged only after I accept the case and you expressly confirm that you want me to proceed. It covers the initial paid work required to open and begin handling the case and is credited toward the service total. For multiple documents, the service remains priced per document and a discount may be agreed. Fees charged by a Comune, parish, Diocese/Curia or other issuing authority — including stamp duties or contributions where required — are separate and paid by the client. International shipping is $20 when I arrange delivery by Poste Italiane international registered mail. If you prefer to arrange your own courier, you organize and pay the courier directly and no $20 shipping charge is due to me.

FAQ

Before you send a request.

These are the practical questions that matter most when requesting an Italian record from abroad.

Do you find unknown ancestors?

No. This is a document retrieval service. You should already have enough information to identify the person and the relevant Italian Comune or place.

How long does it take?

There is no fixed completion time. Response times depend on the Comune, archive, parish or diocesan office handling the request.

Are authority fees included?

No. Comune contributions, stamp duties and fees charged by parishes, dioceses or other issuing authorities are separate and remain the client’s responsibility.
