ITALIAN CIVIL RECORDS

Italian birth records for jure sanguinis.

I retrieve official Italian birth records directly from the competent Comune when you already know the ancestor and the place of birth.

What I can request

Depending on the record and the issuing office, the request may concern an extract of the birth record, a multilingual extract, or a certified/full copy of the original record. The exact document should match what the authority handling your citizenship file has asked you to provide.

What I need from you

Please provide the ancestor’s full name, exact or approximate date of birth, Comune or place of birth, parents’ names if known, and any existing certificate or family document that may help identify the correct record.

Name and date variations

Old Italian and foreign records can contain spelling variations, translated first names, or conflicting dates. You can attach the documents you already have so I can understand what should be communicated to the Italian office. I do not determine citizenship eligibility or provide legal advice.
